Ph.D. Research Opportunities at ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-Indian Institute of Spices Research (IISR), Kozhikode, is inviting applications from Indian citizens to pursue Ph.D. research in the following disciplines:

• Botany (7 positions)
• Biochemistry (1 position)
• Zoology (1 position)

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Candidates must have a Master's degree in Botany, Biochemistry, or Zoology and a valid national level fellowship (JRF of CSIR, UGC, DBT, etc.) or any other equivalent fellowship (KSCSTE, etc.).
2. All candidates must have a valid UGC-NET score as per the notification from UGC (No.F.4-1(UGC-NET Review Committee)/2024(NET)/140648 dated 27/03/2024).
3. The upper age limit is 35 years for male and 40 years for female candidates as on 20-09-2024. Age relaxation is applicable as per the Government of India rules for SC/ST/OBC/Women/Physically Handicapped candidates.

Selection Method:

Eligible candidates will be invited for an interview before the Selection Committee. The selection of Ph.D. scholars will be based on a brief presentation (10-minutes) on any topic of interest in the relevant field of specialization.
