AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING – AN INTRODUCTION
Automobile Engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with designing, manufacturing and operating automobiles. It incorporates elements of mechanical, electrical, software and safety engineering as applied to design and manufacture buses, bikes, trucks and other vehicles and machines. The course in Automobile Engineering deals with the creation and maintenance of automobiles, starting from designing the vehicles to manufacturing components, assembling and testing them for safety.
HOW AND WHERE TO PURSUE AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING
Basic Eligibility for UG courses The students, who wish to pursue automobile engineering, should have qualified Class 12th with minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized board in India. Candidates, who wish to join IITs, should have cleared JEE Main and Advanced. Whereas, admission to NITs depends on the candidate’s JEE Main score.
Basic Eligibility for PG courses.
To pursue a postgraduate course in automotive engineering, candidates should have Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering/ B. Tech in Automotive Engineering from a recognized University.
Basic Eligibility for Diploma courses
For a Diploma course in automotive engineering, candidates should have passed 10+2 in the science stream with 50% marks in PCM subjects from a recognized University.
