National Career Counsellors Training Workshop, Aligarh
Centre for Training and Academic Guidance (CTAG) in collaboration with The Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University and Centre for Educational Research & Training (CERT) successfully organized a three day National Career Counsellors Training Workshop from 6th to 8th April 2026.
The workshop brought together academicians, psychologists, and career guidance professionals to strengthen practical understanding and skills in career counselling. The sessions were designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and hands on experience.
The program began with an inaugural session, followed by discussions on the basics of career counselling, its challenges in India, and the principles and ethics required for effective practice. Participants were actively engaged through sessions on role plays, case studies, and communication skills, making the learning process interactive and meaningful.
Further sessions focused on the professional development of counsellors, the use of psychometric tools and digital applications, and the importance of establishing career guidance systems. Stress management and personal effectiveness were also highlighted as essential components of counselling practice.
A group assignment and participant presentations encouraged collaboration, critical thinking, and practical application of concepts. The workshop concluded with a valedictory session, marking the successful completion of the program.
Overall, the workshop served as a comprehensive platform for enhancing knowledge, developing practical skills, and promoting ethical and professional standards in career counselling.
