The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) has released important updates regarding the CLAT 2025 counseling process.
Important Updates
Registration:
- Registration for the CLAT 2025 counseling process is open until December 20th.
- Applicants must update their preferences and confirm their seat choices.
- The freeze/float/exit options are available during the counseling process.
Preference Updating:
- Applicants can update their preferences multiple times before the deadline.
- Once a seat is allotted, the applicant can only move to higher preference choices.
- After the deadline, preference changes will not be allowed.
Seat Allotment and Confirmation:
- The first three rounds of seat allotment will be conducted.
- Applicants allotted a seat in the first three rounds must confirm their seat and pay the confirmation fee within the specified time.
- Failure to confirm the seat will result in forfeiture.
Float Option:
- The float option allows applicants to be considered for higher preference choices in subsequent rounds.
- To exercise the float option, the university fee must be paid within the specified deadline.
- The fifth round will not have a float option.
Exit Option:
- Applicants who do not wish to participate in the counseling process can choose the exit option.
- The confirmation fee will be forfeited if the exit option is chosen.
Important Dates:
- December 20: Last date for registration and preference updating.
- December 26: First round seat allotment results.
- January 4: Deadline for confirmation fee payment and preference options for the first three rounds.
- January 10: Second round seat allotment results.
- January 16: Third round seat allotment results.
- January 30: Fourth round seat allotment results.
- February 5: Fifth round seat allotment results.
- May 14: Deadline for payment of university fees for those who have confirmed their seats in the first three rounds.
