The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (I), 2024, opening doors for young aspirants seeking a career in the Indian Armed Forces. The examination is scheduled for April 13, 2024, and will facilitate entry into the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA and the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy.

Who Can Apply?

Young men and women who are passionate about serving the nation and meet the following criteria are eligible:

  • Age: Born between July 2, 2006, and July 1, 2009 (both dates inclusive).
  • Education: Passed or appearing for the 10+2 (or equivalent) examination. Those appearing must provide proof of passing by December 15, 2024. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are required for those aspiring to join the Navy and Air Force.

Exam Structure:

The exam will comprise two papers:

  • Mathematics (300 marks)
  • General Ability Test (600 marks) covering English and General Knowledge.

Negative marking will be applicable for incorrect answers. Candidates opting for the Air Force/Naval wings will also undergo the Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) test.

Applications must be submitted online through upsonline.gov.in. One-time registration (OTR) is mandatory before applying.
