Mother Teresa Scholarship Application Open

The Department of Minority Welfare, Kerala has invited applications for the Mother Teresa Scholarship. This scholarship is offered to minority students pursuing nursing or paramedical diplomas in government, aided, or self-financing institutions in Kerala.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Religion: Applicants must belong to minority communities such as Muslim, Christian (all denominations), Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, or Parsi.
  • Domicile: Candidates must be permanent residents of Kerala.
  • Course: Students enrolled in a nursing diploma (General Nursing) or paramedical diploma course in a government nursing school or a recognized self-financing institution are eligible.
  • Admission: Candidates must have secured admission through the merit seat. Proof of allotment must be submitted.
  • Marks: Applicants should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • Economic Background: Priority will be given to BPL category applicants. However, in the absence of BPL applicants, APL category applicants from minority communities with an annual income of up to Rs. 8 lakhs will also be considered.
  • Course Stage: Both first-year and second-year students are eligible to apply.
  • Gender: 50% of the scholarships are reserved for female students.
  • Bank Account: Applicants must have a savings account in a nationalized or scheduled bank.

Scholarship Amount: Rs. 15,000/-

Note:

  • Students who have received the scholarship in the previous year are not eligible to apply.
  • The scholarship will be provided only once.
