Notification: CTET – February 2026 Examination & Application Details

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the official notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) – February 2026. Eligible candidates aspiring for teaching positions in Classes I to VIII across Central Government Schools, schools under Union Territories, and various recognized institutions are invited to submit their applications within the notified schedule.

 

Important Dates

  • Opening of Online Application: 27 November 2025
  • Last Date for Submission of Online Application: 18 December 2025 (up to 11:59 PM)
  • Last Date for Submission of Examination Fee: 18 December 2025 (before 11:59 PM)
  • Date of Examination: 08 February 2026 (Sunday)

Applicants are advised to complete the registration process well in advance to avoid last-minute technical issues.

Schedule of Examination

The CTET February 2026 examination will be conducted in two shifts as follows:

08.02.2026 Paper–II Morning 09:30 AM – 12:00 Noon
08.02.2026 Paper–I Evening 02:30 PM – 05:00 PM

Candidates must report 120 minutes before the commencement of the examination.
Late entry will not be permitted under any circumstances.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility conditions for CTET are governed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Applicants should:

  • Ensure they meet the minimum educational qualifications for the respective papers.
  • Verify their eligibility as CBSE will not check eligibility at the time of application.
    Final verification is done by the recruiting/appointing authority.

Relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks in minimum educational qualifications is available for SC/ST/OBC/Differently-abled candidates.

Structure of CTET

The CTET consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with no negative marking.

Paper I – For Classes I to V (Primary Stage)

  • Child Development & Pedagogy – 30 MCQs
  • Language I – 30 MCQs
  • Language II – 30 MCQs
  • Mathematics – 30 MCQs
  • Environmental Studies – 30 MCQs

Paper II – For Classes VI to VIII (Elementary Stage)

  • Child Development & Pedagogy – 30 MCQs
  • Language I – 30 MCQs
  • Language II – 30 MCQs
  • Mathematics & Science OR Social Studies/Social Science – 60 MCQs

CTET Certificate & Validity

  • CTET certificate validity is lifetime.
  • Candidates who qualify will receive a digitally signed marksheet and certificate in their DigiLocker account with QR verification.
