Notification: Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2026
The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2026, organized by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, will serve as the gateway to postgraduate admissions in science and related fields across leading institutes of the country.
Key Details:
- Commencement of Online Registration: 5 September 2025
- Closing of Application Window: 12 October 2025
- Date of Examination: Sunday, 15 February 2026
- Declaration of Results: 18 March 2026
Examination Sessions:
- Forenoon (9:30 AM – 12:30 PM): Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA)
- Afternoon (2:30 PM – 5:30 PM): Biotechnology (BT), Economics (EN), Mathematical Statistics (MS), Physics (PH)
Highlights:
- Admission to over 3,000 seats in postgraduate and dual-degree programs such as (i) M.Sc., (ii) M.Sc. (Tech.), (iii) MS (Research), (iv) M.Sc. – M.Tech. Dual Degree, (v) Joint M.Sc. – Ph.D., and (vi) M.Sc. – Ph.D. Dual Degree across 22 IITs
- JAM 2026 Score is also likely to be used by IISc Bengaluru, IISERs, IIPE, JNCASR, and CFTIs such as NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, DIAT through CCMN.
- Candidates may appear in one or two test papers, provided they are scheduled in different sessions.
- Qualifying in JAM 2026 does not automatically guarantee admission. Final admission will be subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria and requirements prescribed by the admitting institutes.
All aspiring candidates are advised to prepare well in advance and ensure timely submission of applications within the stipulated dates.
