Joint CSIR-UGC NET Examination — December 2026 Cycle
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the online application window for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2026. Candidates can apply under three distinct eligibility categories: (i) JRF and Assistant Professor, (ii) Assistant Professor and Ph.D., or (iii) Ph.D. admission only. The deadline to apply is 05 November 2026 (up to 11:50 PM).

Eligibility Categories Explained
Qualifying candidates are eligible for the monthly Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), recruitment as Assistant Professor, and admission to Ph.D. programmes. Age limit for JRF is maximum 30 years (with applicable relaxations).
Qualifies candidates for appointment as an Assistant Professor and for direct admission to Ph.D. programmes (not eligible for JRF stipend). NET score holds a 70% weightage for doctoral admissions. No upper age limit.
Qualifies candidates solely for entrance into Ph.D. programmes in scientific disciplines (70% test score weightage + 30% interview/viva-voce). Score remains valid for 1 year from result declaration. No upper age limit.
Academic Qualifications & Subjects
- Subject Disciplines: Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences.
- Minimum Marks: Master’s degree (M.Sc. / BS-MS / BS 4-year / B.E. / B.Tech / B.Pharma / MBBS) with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender).
- Result Awaited (RA): Final-year postgraduates awaiting results are eligible to apply.
